Hey Everyone!!
Can you believe another week has gone by? I don't know if I am in denial or something because time is going by so fast or something, but the other day someone I was talking to was commenting on how odd it is that it is so cold out right now. And I just looked at them and I was like, "What do you mean? This is normal winter weather..." haha awkward blonde moment #257 of this week. Because then my companion reminded me that it is June. Not to mention that I got an email from my friend Karlie reminding me that I am about to miss my SPIRIT HOLIDAY. I guess the good news is that I can still wear my red white and blue. I will just have to do without the stars this year. Or I could just wear my socks so that only I would know they are there ;) That is a better idea. I think I'll do that :)
Things in Rouen are so so so good. They get better every week. And on top of that, my favorite member from the ward (I know you can't pick favorites but I just did ;)) Frère Bitanga, took us on a tour of the city, which is just full of endless history. He told us to even put a dent in it, it would take days. And we had about two hours soo... We went to all the big things. This is such an old city! There are things here that are left over from the time of Jesus! And along with that, Joan of Arc was killed here so there is endless history about that. There are just endless bodies everywhere! Seriously though, I feel like every five steps he was saying, "Now you are standing over a tombe!" I thought that in Paris when I lived over the catacombs that was a lot, but now I am not so sure... Super cool though. And our church is on top of old Roman ruins that used to exist here- so the church still runs into piping issues and what not because of it. How cool!
It is amazing because I absolutely love all of the people here and the Spirit of this city, but along with that, my appreciation was quadrupled today by everything I learned :)
Me and Soeur Bennett are so excited to be together again for another transfer. This is my first transfer where I am with a companion for more than one! So we decided to start out strong with a few goals, one being to visit some less active members, which are not few. I will leave it at that. But we started out one day, and we headed to a little town, just by Rouen. Well, I forgot to mention one little thing, that we made this other TERRIFYING GOAL, to never get on a metro or a bus or a tram without talking to someone. And we made a promise to ourselves and to God, that we would always try our hardest, to the extent that the situation allows, to find the people who he has prepared. And for me, I am finding that if I am not always talking to someone, I can still be a good missionary, but I always feel like I could be doing something more. So the goal was set. Plans were made. And courage was prayed for. And that day when we were going to that town, I found the cutest girl ever :) and she talked to me for about a half hour about everything from church to pâtisseries to family, and she wants to meet again. It works. When we promise with God that we will do something and if we follow through, He is always going to bless us.
After getting off the bus, we realized that the other bus we needed only comes once at 7:30 in the morning. But we knew that we needed to see this less active for some reason. So we decided to take a little bit of a walk. And the neighboorhood didn't feel super safe, and there was no one there but us. Until we see this one woman walking in front of us. :) So we had to talk to her! And we did! And guess what she said?! Just kidding I"ll just tell you! After talking a little about who we are and the importance of the Book of Mormon, she looks at us and says, "Are you busy? Or can I ask you to come over right now and talk to me about this?" So of course we went. And it was amazing. She told us what a miracle it was she found us and about how she had had a dream about meeting missionaries. And I don't know what will come from it. But it was a miracle for us. And for her :) I love how God directts people into each others paths that need each other! And it is so easy to just know that those couple hours were directed and led by a loving Heavenly Father who takes into account every siituation and every individual.
Something I have really learned this week is the importance of keeping promises. Promises I make to myself, my amis, my family, my friends, my God. and I am learning that God never fails to keep a promise. And when I keep a promise on my end, I am going to see the blessing either now or later, but it comes :) He wants me to be happy and to succeed. But he also wants me to go out of my comfort zone, to do things I haven't done before, to say things I neever thought I could say. Because that is where the change comes from.
I love you all so much :) Sorry my individual emails are getting worse with time. I always heard that happened and I promise it wouldn't be me :) So those of you who wrote my about 4 weeks ago, I am getting to you soon ;) But at least you know once again, that I am working hard and I having fun :)

Alyssa's Companion sent this quote by President Utchdorf:
"Our destiny is not determined by the number of times we stumble but by the number of times we rise up, dust ourselves off, and move forward."
